DayZ Original Goes Modded

Three new servers. One unified hive. One character across them all. Hardcore survival, enhanced — still DayZ to the bone.

⚠ Important Notice

Migration — May 1st

On May 1st, everything persistent on the vanilla servers will be transferred to the new modded hive. Here is exactly what survives the move — and what you must do before the deadline.

Carried Over

  • Bases & player-built structures
  • Vehicles and their contents
  • Tents, barrels, sea chests, crates
  • Buried stashes & hidden caches
  • Storage items left on the ground inside your base

Left Behind

  • Player characters — everyone respawns fresh
  • Anything worn or carried on your character at wipe
  • Hotbar & inventory at the moment of transfer

Before May 1st — Do This

  1. Empty your pockets into crates, barrels, sea chests.
  2. Top up buried stashes with your best loot.
  3. Pack vehicles — their inventory migrates too.
  4. Do not log out carrying gear you want to keep.

Translation: if it’s inside a container when the clock hits zero, it’s yours on the other side. If it’s on your back, it’s gone.

After May 1st

The Hive Keeps Growing

Migration is the starting line, not the finish. Once everyone is settled on the new servers, we'll keep rolling out fresh content — carefully picked to deepen the world without breaking its balance. Here's a taste of what's queued up.

Coming soon

Loyal Companions

Tame a four-legged partner with scraps of meat or a well-placed bone. Multiple breeds, each with their own temperament. Have them follow at your heel, patrol your base, or hold a position while you scout. They can ride in vehicles, defend you against the infected, and stay by your side between sessions — but they bleed like any other survivor. Keep them fed. Keep them safe.

Coming soon

A Map That Breathes

The forests and streets will grow noisier. Rabbits bolting through the bushes, squirrels scaling the pines, snakes hidden in the tall grass, ravens circling above carrion, rats skittering inside abandoned buildings, seagulls haunting the coast, otters slipping along the rivers. Each with their own behaviour, their own calls — fresh ambient life to sharpen your ears and eyes.

Coming soon

Mounted Travel

Answer the eternal problem of empty fuel cans: rideable mounts, found grazing in the open fields. Saddle one up, feed it an apple to call it back, stable it near your base. Walk, trot, gallop or swim across Chernarus the old-fashioned way — silent, fuel-free, and far more alive than any pickup truck.

Exact release dates will be announced on Discord — expect staggered drops rather than one big update.

Flagship feature

One Character. Three Servers. One Hive.

The modded cluster runs on a shared hive. Your survivor is no longer locked to a single server — loot, stats, wounds and gear travel with you between the three maps.

Unified Character

No more juggling three identities. One progression, one inventory, one life. Die on any server, respawn fresh across the whole hive.

Transit Terminals

Dedicated travel points let you hop between servers through in-world objects — boats, helicopters, computers — placed at key locations on each map.

True Persistence

Character data is stored cluster-side. Disconnect on Server 1, reconnect on Server 3 with the exact same survivor, exact same gear.

Mod spotlight — Zen's Skill & Perk Tree

Survive. Train. Specialize.

Every action you take on the hive grows your survivor. Press U to open your personal perk tree and spend the experience you earned out in the wild — no character classes, no pay-to-win, just survival rewarding survival.

  • XP for playing the game. Chopping, hunting, healing, shooting, travelling — it all feeds your tree.
  • Hand-picked survival perks. Extra logs per felled tree, longer warmth from fires, animal tracking, boosted stamina and more — tuned to stay in the DayZ spirit.
  • Boosters for the committed. Find skill books and boost injectors as loot to push specific branches faster.
  • Anti-AFK / anti-farm. Sit in one spot too long and XP gain auto-nerfs. The map rewards the mobile survivor.
  • PvP-respectful. Perks help you live longer — they don't hand you an unfair edge in a gunfight.

What changes in-game

New Possibilities, True to DayZ

Every mod was picked to deepen survival without turning the game into an arcade. No flying cars, no magic loot — just smarter tools, fairer wear, and sharper tension.

Skill & Perk Tree

Earn XP from surviving. Press U to spend it: extra logs per tree, longer warmth buffs, animal tracking. An auto-nerf stops XP farming in one spot — stay on the move.

Map Enhancements

Place and share custom markers on your paper map. Pens required, damaged maps can be patched with duct tape. Press M to bring it to your hands in a single move.

Bed Spawns

Fresh spawns no longer just wash up on the coast. Beds inside hospitals and houses are used as spawn points across the map — expect more inland starts.

Peek Doors

Crack any door open a sliver to scout the room before committing. Works while moving, even prone. Doors can’t be locked while ajar.

Blood Trails

Bleeding survivors now leave persistent blood drips on the ground. Track the wounded. Bind your cuts before someone else finds them.

First Aid on Belt

Your FAK can now attach to the canteen slot on your belt — and the meds inside stay bound to your hotbar. Field medicine, ready in one keypress.

Vehicle Gunplay

Passengers and co-drivers can now draw pistols and revolvers from inside cars — iron sights and reloads included. Open the full inventory while seated, too.

Bullet Holes

Every impact leaves a persistent decal on concrete, wood, glass, metal and more — even on moving doors. Firefights leave a story behind.

Clean & Build

Clear your base plot. Chop trees, remove trunks, dig out bushes and small rocks — regrowth timers are tuned server-side. Finally build where you want.

Weapon on Backpack

Attach vanilla rifles, the crossbow, axes, bats and swords to your backpack tool slot — no more juggling the primary when you need both hands.

Ghillie & Smersh Slots

Dedicated slots for ghillie hoods, ghillie suits and the Smersh vest — carry your camouflage kit without sacrificing your regular loadout.

Inventory in Car

Reorganize your loot, sort crates, move ammo — all without leaving the driver’s seat. Big time saver for long convoys.

Store Loot in Loot

Put clothing and fully loaded backpacks inside containers. Stash nested kits in barrels, sea chests and crates — a whole alt-loadout per slot.

Combined Repair Kits

Stack duct tape, sewing kits, leather kits, tire kits, epoxy, gun cleaning kits and more. Fewer slots wasted on redundant tools.

Pristine Repairs

Every repair attempt has a 30% chance to restore an item to pristine condition. Keep patching — even worn gear can come back factory-fresh.

Suppressor Maintenance

Improvised suppressors are no longer one-use. 80% duct tape on a badly damaged unit brings it back to service.

Tougher Gear, Base & Tools

Vanilla clothing, axes, hammers, saws, shovels, fences and watchtowers all take 2.5× the punishment before breaking. Gear respects your grind a little more.

Fire Sticks

Plant up to three sticks around an outdoor fire for extra cooking slots. Sticks degrade — pots and tripods still have their place.

Harder Fire-Starting

The hand drill is no longer a free warm-up. Double the time, 45% less chance to ignite — matches and lighters regain their value.

Torch Nerf

Torches now light your path — and nothing more. No more instant warmth buff or laundromat-speed clothes drying.

Inventory Tells

Players now visibly animate when rummaging through their inventory. If someone’s looting in the open, you can see it from a distance.
